INTERPRETING TRAINING
The AVP Translation and Interpretation Training Course was established in 1997 to address both local and national demand for highly qualified professional translators and interpreters. The program is designed to promote the ethical practice of the profession while equipping participants with the skills necessary to engage in professional practice, research, and teaching within the field.
This academic initiative began in 1995 with the creation of the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation (DTI), which has been offered regularly since November 1997. The diploma programs are intended for working interpreters, students, and members of the community in general who have at least a high school education, along with knowledge in a humanistic, social, technical, or scientific field, and who seek professional training as translators in their areas of specialization.
In addition to maintaining its established programs, the DTI continues to develop new academic initiatives aimed at strengthening the training and ongoing professional development of translators and translation educators. It also promotes research and the dissemination of academic activities related to translation.
